ConVal boys soccer was pretty evenly matched against Oyster River when OR got a goal. The Cougars valiantly attempted to tie the game in the remaining time with several shots on the OR goal. Colby Knight made a charge at the goal in the final seconds of play that looked like it would go in, but alas the OR keeper was able to stop it. Teammate, Finn Wegmueller, was there to pick up the pieces.
Oregon Tech’s men’s soccer outplayed Rocky in Saturday’s game but the visitor was able to get one goal to seal the result 0-1.
In their conference opener the Hustlin’ Owls of Oregon Tech chased the Coyotes of College of Idaho off the field with a 2-0 win. The two goals were by Lodewijk Bloemzaad and a penalty kick by Joey Driessen.
Soccer alumni returned to campus this weekend to reconnect with one another and play against the current players in the annual Alumni/Varsity Game. In a razor thin margin the varsity won.
In their first win of the 2018 season, Oregon Tech’s Men’s Soccer defeated Sierra Nevada College 2-1 in overtime play. The Owl’s two goals were by Cade Roske and Lodewijk Bloemzaad.
The Oregon Tech Men’s Soccer team worked together Friday to perfect their skills and plays in preparation for their game tomorrow against Sierra Nevada College. Despite the smoke from California fires that laid across the Klamath valley, sometimes the team worked so well together that they seemed like one person. Faces of the players often tell the effort that is being put into a move or play.
In the first game of the season, ConVal’s Evan Merwede led his team with two of the four goals in a shutout victory over Souhegan.
