Each year the St Paul’s School Ballet Company in Concord, New Hampshire produces a holiday favorite of The Nutcracker by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. With new costuming and newly choreographed dances this year’s production is particularly enjoyable.
High school students from St. Paul’s School in Concord, NH excel in ballet. Some of their alums have gone on to the world’s best ballet companies. St Paul’s School in Concord, NH is known for its dance program. Recently, dance director, Jennifer Howard, gave this class the good fortune of working with Philip Neal, a former principal dancer at the New York City Ballet and Amy Young formerly with the Paul Taylor Dance Company. Both artists worked with students on programs to be produced at during graduation week at St Paul’s.
St. Paul’s School Ballet Company in Concord, NH produced an abbreviated, yet wonderful, version of the holiday favorite, The Nutcracker this weekend. With students dancing in the Land of Snow and the Land of Sweets, the audience is treated to some outstanding performances rarely seen at the high school level. In these photos you can see the Snow Queen, Snow Princesses and Snowflakes…Spanish Chocolate, Arabian Coffee, Chinese Tea, Marzipan, Russian, Dewdrop, Flowers and the Sugar Plum Fairy. The company’s leadership: Director, Jennifer Howard, Assistant Director, Courtney Peix-Barros and Musical Director, Michael Orsillo, along with the dancers are to be commended for an outstanding evening of entertainment for the Concord and school communities.
