Washington, DC, Francestown isn’t. However, the men, women, and children (some with pink pussy hats) who showed up for the Women’s March on Saturday were no less passionate about how they felt about issues surrounding women’s health and the direction the new national administration appears to be heading. A small town whose main street is lined with 200 year old clapboard homes, Francestown is a quintessentially New England village with it’s white steepled churches and general store. The march drew about 135 people from a very rural area of New Hampshire. They listened to some guitar music, a talk and some poetry before heading up Main Street with their signs. Note that one sign talks about the “kakistocracy” that is before us. That was my word for the day. Look it up.
